Favorite Rug in the House

This post is a little random, but here is my absolute favorite rug in my house.  I had to buy a lot of them on a budget when we moved into our house.  This one just makes me happy.  It's different colors depending on the light coming in, and it's an optical illusion on the eyes - perfect for dirt, and crumbs, and a messy/beautiful life!

It's called the Nourison Graphic Illusions Grey Antique Damask Pattern Rug (5'3 x 7'5) and you can buy it on Overstock.

Emmett's Room

It's not the best room of the house, but it's pretty great, and filled with a ton of love and memorabilia from his namesake Grandpa Mark.

Paint Color: Behr Polar Drift, Home Depot
Gallery Frames: Pottery Barn
"E" Baseball Star Letter: LarsonDesigns
Moon Owl Stars Decal: Jesabi
Star Decals: Jamberry Wall Decals
Curtains: Country Curtains
Crib: Baby's Dream

Bat Hook: Wayfair
8x10 Throw Rug: Safavieh, Wayfair

My husband and I put together the Norman Rockwell baseball puzzle when we were still in college. We set it and had it framed.

My grandmother painted the painting.  It's inspired by my dad, my grandfather, and my aunt and three uncles playing baseball in the backyard.

Bridget's Room

My daughter has the best room in the house and designing it for her was too much fun.

She told me last year when she was three that she wanted a pirate room.

Um. OK.

So I got a tiny purple pirate ship decal and decided to make it a whimsical, pirate fairy room.  I think she was happy with my interpretation even though she rightly pointed out there was "only one pirate thing."

I picked the tree decal because I figured it can grow with her.  When she's over fairies, those are super easy to remove, and she can come up with some new inspiration.

Paint Color: Fanciful, Behr, Home Depot She literally picked this color right off the Home Depot swatch wall, and I was so proud.  Couldn't have picked it better!

Basement Redo

Our basement redo on the cheap is my most pinned Pinterest pin.  I don't have any before pics, but it was basically your typical unfinished basement: dirty, concrete floors.  We did already have drywall there, which was a huge help.  It has 75 repins, which is pretty cool.

We started by covering the ceilings with cheap Wal-Mart white sheets.  They cost $5 a sheet and we just stapled them together until the ceiling was totally covered.  Then we added the cheapest carpet squares we could find from Home Depot, and they just adhesived right on.  We used white rope to cover the concrete beams.
